The Mockers Around You

The Mockers Around You

They mocked Him.

As He hung there—beaten, bruised, stripped of His dignity—Jesus was surrounded by voices that ridiculed Him, gambled for what little He had left, and told Him He wasn’t worth saving.

And still... He stayed.

Why? Because He saw you.

He saw your pain, your addiction, your silent suffering. And He refused to come down from that cross because He knew you’d need a way out—a way back to life.

But let’s talk honestly for a minute.

You’ve been hanging on your own kind of cross. Not one built of wood and nails, but one made of needles, bottles, pills, and powders. Of broken promises, quiet shame, and the never-ending chase for peace you can’t quite find.

And while you hang there, vulnerable and bleeding inside, the world around you mocks you too.

The Mockers Around You

Every dealer, every liquor ad, every so-called friend handing you your next fix—they’re not helping you live. They’re playing the part of the crowd at the crucifixion.

  • They mock your potential: “This is who you are now. You’ll never change.”

  • They strip your dignity: “You need this to feel okay.”

  • They gamble with your life: “Just one more time. What’s the worst that can happen?”

Sound familiar?

They are slowly killing you, just like the ones who stood around Jesus that day. Not all at once—but sip by sip, hit by hit, lie by lie. They’re tricking you into believing your life is disposable, your soul is too far gone, and your worth is defined by your addiction.

You Are NOT the Addict They Say You Are

You are not the mockery.
You are not the mistake.
You are not the needle, the bottle, or the relapse.

You are the one He saw from the cross. You are the reason He stayed there when He could’ve walked away.

The enemy is terrified of your freedom. That’s why you’re under attack. That’s why it’s hard to stop. Because deep down, even hell knows you were made for more than this slow death.

They Want You to Die Silently

The same voices that laughed at Jesus as He bled out are whispering lies to you right now:

  • “You’ll never be clean.”

  • “You’re too far gone.”

  • “You need this to cope.”

  • “You don’t matter.”

But Jesus' blood speaks a louder truth:

“You were worth dying for. And now, you are worth LIVING for.”

He did not die so you could stay enslaved. He rose so you could be free.

You Can Walk Away from the Mockers

You don’t have to keep dying like this. You don’t have to let them tell you who you are.

Today, you can:

  • Break free from the ones feeding you lies.

  • Say no to the hands that hold out death disguised as relief.

  • Call out for help—even if your voice shakes.

Addiction is not your destiny. It’s your battleground.

✝️ Let the Cross Be Your Wake-Up Call

Look again at that hill called Golgotha.
There, Jesus was mocked… so you would be restored.
He was pierced… so you could be healed.
He was surrounded by killers… so you could be surrounded by life-givers.

You’re not hopeless.
You’re not worthless.
You are being lied to.

And now—it’s time to step down from the cross the world has nailed you to… and rise.

If this hit your spirit, don’t stay silent.

Tell someone.
Reach out.
Fall to your knees if you must.

But do not stay where death is speaking. Your resurrection starts now.
